We collaborate with you to design, style, install, and care for plants that fit your lifestyle. Whether you want us to guide you to care for your plants on your own, or turn it all over to our expertise and experience, we’ve got you.

Interiorscapes and potted outdoor plants are our speciality. We also bring two decades of knowledge and experience working with the unique Central Texas ecosystem, and all of our outdoor designs incorporate native and adapted plants whenever possible. In addition to interior work, we’re happy to take on small landscaping projects. We partner with local landscape designers for bigger, more intricate installs.

Walkway, entryway, atrium, lobby, office. These spaces can be bland and boring, or they can serve as sources of inspiration and joy.
Plant Practice partners with business owners, architects, planners, and builders to bring color, texture, and yes – joy! to those workhorse areas that are often overlooked. Can you have a crush on a commercial space? We think so.
Plants in these environments must withstand the higher traffic volume that comes with public use. We choose hearty, setting-specific varieties while still maintaining focus on interesting shapes, textures, and colors.

Consult > Design Outline > Install > Maintenance
Every Plant Practice partnership starts with a free in person consultation. We’ll discuss your goals, aesthetic preferences, and talk through what you need in terms of plant care. If the consult empowers you to move forward on your own, we’re always available to answer questions throughout your practice.
After the consult, we put together a design outline and pricing plan for each component. We invite collaboration and conversation.
Once you approve the design plan, we schedule an install date, typically 4-8 weeks out to allow for sourcing plants, pots, and materials.
Ongoing maintenance is offered on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule. All installs not paired with ongoing maintenance include a complimentary follow-up at 2-3 weeks, to ensure all plants are adjusting well in the new space. Our goal is that your plant practice is a gratifying one, so please reach out if you’d like to discuss different arrangements.

Hello! I’m Katy and I love to practice plants. I bring a varied background, including a degree in International Relations, boatloads of Fine Arts coursework, and corporate program management, together with more than two decades of horticultural education and experimentation, to my work with Plant Practice.
I love designing for the immediate and long-term visual impact that plants bring as they evolve through the seasons, and prioritize delighting clients. I’ve killed more plants than I can remember – and that’s not a bad thing! It simply means I’ve figured out many things that work well, and many others that don’t.
